We've moved around quite a bit in the last 10 years. Leaving 3 houses in 2 states, you're bound to miss the "good old days". Maybe not the house as much as the events of your life while you were living there. The friends you had, the neighborhood you left behind, the parties you hosted, the babies that were born there.
Every time you flip through a photo album, you search the background for pieces of what you remember about your old house. That carpet, the way your furniture was set up in a room. The toys and decorations you still have today, and the things that you had forgotten you ever owned.
Every house has it's own story, it's own set of memories, it's own former "life". Every house you ever live in contributes something to who you are. And in every house resides a little piece of each person that has ever lived or visited there. This is where we live, and no matter what the future holds, part of us always will.
