Pet Parade, take 2

Tonight we found ourselves once again at preschool for Pet Parade night.  We all laughed and reminisced about Kara's Pet Parade experience a few years ago.  But tonight was Jack's turn.

He marched into the auditorium with his classmates, carrying Ollie the Ostrich as his special pet from home.

It's hard to see in this dark photo, but Jack got up on the stage without hesitation to sing some songs along with the other kids from his school.  Unlike the last show, this time he actually sang and did the motions!

Finally, it was the time we had all been waiting for.  Each child was introduced one at a time to come up on the stage with their special pet so that their pet could win an award.  This was the part where Kara had really balked at her show.  We wondered if one of the girls would have to get up on the stage to help Jack, as Jenna had done for Kara two years ago.

But Jack isn't shy.  He got right up there and with a big smile accepted the award for "Best Singing Pet", right in front of the crowded audience.

It's funny how different your kids can all be, and how an event that is exactly the same can have such a different outcome, depending on the child.

Congratulations, Jack and Ollie!  We're so very proud of you both!
