(alternately titled: The night Jack almost drank meatball juice)
After a long day of fun in the sun and water and Duck rides it was time to go out for dinner. The whole family went to a nicer Italian restaurant on the grounds of the resort, and we all ordered our meals in the dimly lit dining room.
Jack laid his head down on the table like this, and we all joked with him: "Are you sleepy bubba?"
"Nope!", said Jack.
We noticed that Jack seemed oblivious to the bread stick in front of him and asked again, "Are you sleepy, bubba?"
To which there was no reply. Just vacant staring.
30 seconds later he was out cold.
Those that know Jack well will understand why we decided to just let him sleep and enjoy the peace and quiet of a meal without him talking incessantly.
We decided to let him sleep and just had his meal boxed up to take back to the hotel.
It was really quite cute, and a bit funny, how he just slept the entire time the rest of us ate.
After we all finished and it was getting to be time to pay the bill and get ready to go, I told Mark to wake him up and prepare him. Jack was very groggy and completely out of it upon waking. He seemed to be dreaming and reached over to Mark's plate, took the gravy boat that had contained Mark's side order of meatballs, and attempted to bring the boat to his mouth to take a drink of the meatball juice that remained.
Hilarity ensued, and that might be the girls' favorite story of the whole trip.
Jack doesn't remember a thing.
