In our house December 23rd is called Christmas Adam ...
because Adam came before Eve just like the 23rd comes before Christmas Eve : )
This year we had a busy Christmas Adam. The kids finally had a chance to decorate their gingerbread men ...
Jenna is very careful and precise, executing her design slowly but surely ...
Jack wants someone to help him, and goes with whatever takes the shortest amount of time and causes the least mess ...
Kara, on the other hand, approaches her cookie decorating the way she approaches life. She can't wait to get her hands on the decorations and will apply each and every thing available to her until someone physically stops her.
After the cookies were decorated, and while mommy cleaned up, the kids decided that they could wait no longer to open gifts. I allowed them to talk it over with one another and decide whether or not they wanted to go ahead and exchange gifts with one another. They did. Right away!
I had taken each one of the kids out separately to shop for their brother and/or sister, and they all did a great job picking out things their sibling would like.
Kara bought Jenna a carrier for her Zhu-Zhu pet ...
Jenna bought Kara a Tea Cup Piggy ...
Kara bought Jack some figurines from the movie, "How To Train Your Dragon" ...
Jack bought Jenna a Disney Fairies calendar, and a pink star necklace ...
Jenna bought Jack a "Yogi Bear" toy and DVD set ...
And Jack bought Kara a Disney Princess calendar and a pink butterfly necklace ...
Later that day, we packed up the van and headed up north for our first of 2 drives this week to celebrate Christmas. Today we went to my friend Corinne's house to hang out with a few of my best friends from high school and all of their kids.
We don't get together as often as I'd like, but I especially love it when we're able to see each other's kids.
Christmas Adam was sure a busy day, but it was the perfect way to kick off our holiday weekend!
